Let's care for one another

Caring is loving

From one of the deepest villages of Namibia, growing up an orphan was never easy. Acquiring basic primary education was really a big challenge in some of the rural set ups, due to long distances kids have to travel, flooded pans on our flat land during rainy seasons, and many others. This forces parents to leave their house chores and make long trips at least four times a day to walk children to school, go back to cultivate or do other house chores, walk to pick the kids and walk back home again. Now, imagine not having parents, some kids have to wait until they are big enough and able to walk long distances on their own and crossover the flooded pans, which delays the learning and development process, some may never choose to go to school at all.

Rainy days

A path leading to my home at the village

Upon returning to Namibia, from my studies and having learnt that children acquire knowledge while young. I found it fit to provide education for the little hearts within the community, thus had to turn our "small old abandoned family-cuca-shop building" into a small kindergarten.

With a helping hand from the community members, we cleared the little place, and set up a small play ground.

The kids who where present enjoyed the playground as soon as it got finished.

Friends helped with decorating the little building

we painted and painted and painted

There is no running water yet, but a tippy tap was made for the kids

On cleaning days the community, family and friends help to cut the grass. Its unfortunate that the  green net for shade was violated by the rain.

The kids don't have a fancy building, nor running water, nor proper toilet, how ever with a humble well trained volunteering teacher, they have started learning. Yeah, you can pay a visit, you can even be part of the kindergarten.
The little school comprises of normal, disabled, orphans, vulnerable kids from the community, thus  Samaritans on extension are yearned for.

Its so unfortunate that money doesn't want to visit, but my hope is that one day a proper school will be built for them.

Now , don't you think caring for one another is a good gesture? with the little we have, let's care for one another. Life is lived once, it is a basket of opportunities, so let's make it a better journey for those who can't afford.
